For tax year 2024, the state of Georgia has significantly expanded an enhanced version of the Job Tax Credit – the Military Zone (MZ) credit within Chatham county (Please click here for a map of the 2024 Military Zones in Chatham County). This credit allows ANY type of company to receive a $ 3,500 credit per new job if a minimum of 2 average jobs are added. You can continue to qualify for the credit each year for 5 years if these jobs are maintained. The expanded MZ area includes most of Garden City, Port Wentworth, and Pooler.
